Reflection

Above images are my best photo in each section : Blur Movement, Double Exposure, and Clear.
First of all, I took a photo of my friend and made him to sit for 2 seconds and then stand for 3 seconds. I like it because the photo shows his movement. Next, Double exposure was the most hardest part. I took a selfie and then took photo of the sun. Therefore, you can see there is a bright circular feature below my face. Lastly, the clear one of the car is my best photo. I really love the blurred edges of the photo which creates a mood and depth in the photo.

Pinhole camera assignment have made me to love  " photography" more. It was hard to develop photos and it was rare to actually pick out the good ones. However, I loved doing it although I failed.
I am very proud of the results from this assignment.

Photographic Composition: Rule of 3rd

Rule of Thirds is basically breaking an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so that you have 9 parts. The pictures I posted is the examples of Rule of Thirds. If you divide the picture with 3 vertical lines you will see that the object (basketball net, tires of the bicycle, and the swing) is one the third part of the division.

Photographic Composition: Contrast

Contrast is the difference between the lights and darks of an image. The greater the difference between lights and darks, the higher the contrast. Also the difference of colours that could emphasize either one of the objects in the picture. I took both picture of an orange flower when I went to the Queen Elizabeth Park during the weekend. I selected these two because the contrast between orange and green was very strong.

Pinhole Camera

Pinhole assignment

What is a Pinhole Camera?

Pinhole camera is a simple box with a pin hole opening at one end to take photo. The image will appear upside down and will appear backward on the back of the camera.

Pinhole Camera Artist

↑
link to Katie Cooke's collections of pinhole photography

Katie Cooke is an Edinburgh-based photographer and artist who works primarily with pinhole cameras, traditional sliver and alternative printing processes.

Personally, I like her works because the tone of the photo is quite brownish and dark. It gives me a feeling of loneliness which I think what Katie wants tell to the audience.
And I like the blurry movement also the double exposures she have done.

Freeze Frame Movement

4000
Freeze Frame Movement is a technique when one shot is printed in a single frame several times and it captures the movement. This is a photo that I took when I went to Lynn Canyon Mountain with my friend's family. I have captured the movement of the water.

Blur Movement

1.6
1/4

Blur Movement technique is to take a photo of a fast-moving objects but appears blurry. I have took photos of my friends movement; I captured one of my friend who was walking through the hallway and the other friend was waving her hands. Above images are the examples of blur movement because not only the movement bur also the subject is blurred.

Subject Clear/ Movement Blurry Around Subject

0.3
Subject Clear/Movement Blurry Around subject technique is to take a photo of a object that moves but only the movement appears blurry. To take this photo, I used 0.3 shutter speed and ask my friend to wave only her hands.
Panning- Background Blurred/ Subject Clear

1/160

Panning- Background Blurred/ subject clear is a photography technique performed through capturing an object in motion while moving the camera in parallel to the object. By moving the camera together with the object, the object remains sharp and the background becomes blurred. The background blur is a result of the motion and is in the opposite direction of the object motion. In this case, shoes are focused and the background is blurry.

Panning- Background Blurred/ Subject Blurred

1/8
Panning- Background Blurred/ Subject Blurred is when both background and the object is blurred but shows the feelings of motion. In this photo, the background and the object is totally blurred but we can still see the direction of the movement.

I have played with lights. First I turned off all the lights, then I asked my mom to write my name; it was very hard to catch a good picture.
