Shutter Speed Definition

Shutter Speed Definitions

#1 Shutter a device which is on the camera that opens and closes to control the focal plane that is exposed to the light.

#2 Shutter Speeds

Shutter speeds are how long the shutter needs to be open, allowing light into the camera, and to properly expose the image. To capture a freeze frame movement the photographer should make the shutter speed fast. On the other hand, to create a blurry effect the photographer should use a slow shutter speed. Then the objects will appear blurred along the direction of the motion.

#3 Shutter Priority

is a system which the shutter speed is chose by the photographer and the right aperture is then set by the camera. Also, it is responsible for creating dramatic effects by either freezing action or blurring motions.

#4 Exposure & how to set your camera for a good exposure
Exposure is the amount of light a camera's sensor captures when a photo is taken. To set a good exposure the photographer has to use

Automatic Exposure Bracketing (AEB): take one exposure at the setting your camera’s light meter thinks is correct (0 on the light meter) and you take at least two more exposures, one at -1 stop and one at +1 stop.

#5 Bulb

Bulb is shutter-speed setting on an adjustable camera that allows for time exposures. Above image is one of the examples of using Bulb.

#6 Cable Release is an attachment that screws into a shutter release, allowing you to trip the shutter mechanically while being isolated from the camera.

#7 Tripod is a three-legged stand to prevent the shakes that our hands make(supports the camera), it helps when people want to take steady, clear photos.

#8 Light Meter measures the amount of light.

#9 Bracketing is taking same photos more than once using different exposures in different settings.

#10 Hot Shoe is a bracket on top of a camera. They contain a number of electrical contact points which are used to signal the flash to discharge when the shutter is pressed. Also, it will be limited in flash photography when  you don't have a hot shoe it comes to flash photography.
